Council tax

You must let us know if you move house. We will recalculate your bill and send you a revised account within 10 working days. If you are moving out of the City of York area you may be entitled to a refund of overpaid tax which will be sent to your new address.

If you are moving into a newly built property we will be unable to send you a bill until the Valuation Officer decides which band your property falls into. However, to help you plan your household expenses, we will provide you with a provisional bill in the meantime.
