There are a range of day services currently available to adults with learning disabilities, older people and people with a disability.
Activities and day support are offered based on individual care assessment and aim to promote independence and quality of life opportunities for each individual.
For older people and people with a disability, these services can be provided at various locations around the city including residential homes and sheltered housing sites.
For adults with a learning disability, the services range from support provided by a medium size day centre and five small community-based services to individual and community support services.
Adults aged 18 years or over with a disability or older people with care needs may be eligible for a place in a day service.
The service has strict eligibility criteria and is only provided as part of a formal Care Plan following a full assessment of needs.
We do have a charging policy for day services including charges for attendance and transport. There may also be a charge to take part in certain activities.
However, how much you will pay will depend on what benefits, savings, or income you have. All charges will be discussed with you at the time of your assessment and you will also be offered a full benefits check.
If you are an adult with a disability, an older person with care needs or caring for someone who has, we may be able to help you.
If you feel you may need day or other support services, you should contact our customer advice centre
