Warden call service

In any emergency, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, you can contact warden call from your home. Staff help quickly and easily by:

  • alerting the Emergency Services, or
  • contacting your doctor, or
  • contacting a relative or friend, or
  • sending a mobile warden to your home, and
  • offering you advice and information.

If you can't speak staff assume that you need help. Information kept on computer helps us find the right help for you.

Warden call is also more than just an emergency service as mobile wardens visit you regularly and can offer you advice and support.

People who use warden call

You are eligible if you are:

  • elderly
  • young or old with a health problem and or disability
  • worried about being in the house alone
  • worried about a vulnerable relative
  • a lone worker

Equipment

You use a special phone (or equipment linked to your own phone) that lets you talk directly with staff at the control centre. You can also wear a remote control button pendant so you can call from anywhere in your home or just outside it.

Cost

There is a small charge for the service, £4.10 per week, but many people receive help paying this. Please ask for more information.
