The Emergency Duty Team is the contact point for all social care and housing enquiries outside of normal office hours.
During normal office hours you should contact the customer advice centre for help and advice.
The Emergency Duty Team can be contacted outside office hours only, including weekends and bank holidays as follows (see contact details on the right hand side of this page)
The service is available to everyone living in York and to people who normally live elsewhere but who are staying temporarily in or visiting the area.
The team will provide you with help and advice over the phone; most calls are resolved in this way. The team can also refer you, where appropriate, to other agencies or to daytime services who might be better placed to help.
There are some urgent situations that may require a member of the team to visit you or the person with the problem.
