Zero Waste is a simple concept. It’s about going even further to ensure we reduce the impact of waste on our local environment as far as possible. This means minimising the waste that we produce, conserving resources and recovering all value from waste in clever simple ways.

Events in 2011 included a Sustainable food day at the York Food & Drink Festival, a programme of free re-use, repair and rejuvenate workshops and a Christmas Choose2Reuse fair.
12 to 18 March is Climate Week.
Climate Week is Britain's biggest climate change campaign, inspiring a new wave of action to create a sustainable future. Culminating in a week of activities, it showcases practical solutions from every sector of society.
