Household waste recycling centres

There are three sites in the York area for residents to take rubbish for recycling, composting or disposal to landfill.

All sites open as usual on bank holidays except for Christmas Day, Boxing day and New Years Day when they are shut.

Facilities available

There are recycling banks and facilities for soil and rubble, garden waste and scrap metal at all three centres. See using the facilities for more information.

Trade waste and asbestos can only be taken to Hazel Court.

It is now possible to take your household batteries to all 3 household waste recycling centres to be recycled.

Opening times and facilities at Beckfield Lane household waste recycling centre. There is a 1.9 metre height barrier at this site, vehicles higher than this will not be able to gain access to this site
Hazel Court
Opening times and facilities at Hazel Court household waste recycling centre. There is a 2.1 metre height barrier at this site, however vehicles that are higher than this can gain access to the site via the trade waste route (you will not be charged if you are householder)
