Voluntary conservation groups

Within York there are a number of organisations that provide practical support for nature conservation work and opportunities to learn some of the conservation skills and participate in conservation work programmes. These include:

  • The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers website
  • The University Conservation Group.
  • The Modern Apprentice scheme run by City of York Council in conjunction with North York County Council and the New Deal Environment Task Force.

We work with all of these groups in order to help implement practical conservation work.
