Air Quality Monitoring

Real time monitoring

Air quality is monitored at ten sites in the city using accurate real time monitoring equipment giving pollutant concentrations on a minute by minute basis.

Diffusion tube monitoring

Nitrogen dioxide is also monitored at an additional 325 sites in the city using the simpler diffusion tube monitoring method. The most recent diffusion tube results can be found in City of York Council's Air Quality Progress Report, April 2008.
