Smoky Vehicles

You can help tackle the problem of excessive smoke from commercial vehicles, such as a buses or lorries.

Reporting a smoky vehicle

Contact the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency tel: 0870 60 60 440. They will need the following information:

  • the vehicle registration number
  • the type of vehicle (eg bus, lorry)
  • the date, time and place that you saw the vehicle
  • the name of the vehicle operator (if possible)

You can also report your complaint by downloading a form from the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency website.
