The playing of musical instruments can be a nuisance depending on how often they are played, the time of day and the volume of the noise. If you play a musical instrument make sure you keep the volume down and the windows shut. Agree times to practice with your neighbours when you will cause least disturbance. If you use an amplifier, turn the volume down or, if possible, use personal headphones.
Our guidance note will tell you what is reasonable. If you or your neighbour regularly play musical instruments and ignore our guidance it may be a noise nuisance. The guidance note is available for download to the right of the page.
Please contact EPU for further information or to report a noise nuisance.
