There are four simple steps that can be taken to ensure your burglar alarm does not become a noise nuisance:
You can register up to two keyholders who can be contacted if your alarm is sounding and causing an nuisance. You can do this by printing out and returning a Key Holders form (can be downloaded to the right of the screen).
If an alarm is causing you a nuisance during office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 5:00pm) contact us on: (01904) 551555
Disabling a burglar alarm can take a long time.
We will try to find the owners or key holders for the premises where the alarm is sounding.
If this fails we assess the situation. If the noise of the alarm is likely to give persons living or working in the vicinity reasonable cause for annoyance, steps must be taken to silence the alarm.
If the alarm continues to sound and we can switch it off without gaining access to the inside of the property, we will arrange for an alarm company to silence the alarm. If the sounder is internal or we need to access inside the property to disable it a warant is obtained and a professional alarm company is called to disable the sounder.
The owner of the premises is then invoiced for the our time and any works carried out by the alarm company which can amount to several hundred pounds.
