A bonded asbestos collection service is available to York residents for the removal of bonded asbestos items such as corrugated roofing sheets, guttering and pipes.

Charges for this service are subject to assessment, for quantities under 200kg the cost is £72, (£60.00 + £12 VAT).  There is no charge for the assessment.

Bond asbestos collections greater than 200kg - price quoted on application excluding VAT. The service is only available to residents who have removed the materials from their property themselves.

We are currently only able to remove smaller items of bonded asbestos (less than 200Kg). Contact us if you have larger items of bonded asbestos. Asbestos for collection must be prepared according to the guidelines on disposing of bonded asbestos safely.

Collections

Bonded asbestos is collected on the same days as bulky items (see collection of bulky items) although a minimum of five working days should be allowed for normal asbestos collections (less than 200kg).

The current rules and timescales for booking asbestos collections over 200Kg (when a licence from the Environment Agency is required) still apply.

Bonded asbestos must be double wrapped in clear plastic before it can be collected.
