Location Plans - 1:1250

A location plan is required with every planning application. This should be to a scale of at least 1:1250. We can provide you with five copies of this plan (from the council offices at 9 St Leonard's Place). There is a fee of £21 for these copies, to cover our costs and the Ordnance Survey licence that allows us to print these plans. Please allow 24 hours for this service.

Once you have your plan, you will need to edge the ownership boundary in red.

Site plan - 1:200 or 1:500

A site plan is required with every planning application. This should be to a scale of at least 1:200 or 1:500. We can provide you with five copies of this plan (from the council offices at 9 St Leonard's Place). There is a fee of £21 for these copies, to cover our costs and the Ordnance Survey licence that allows us to print these plans. Please allow 24 hours for this service.

Once you have your plan showing the existing property, you will then need to draw any proposals onto the plan so that we can see the development in relation to the existing property and any neighbouring properties.

Ordering copies of plans

To order copies of location plans or site plans tel: (01904) 551436,  call in to the reception desk at 9 St Leonard's Place, or write to us with the details of the plan you require and a cheque made payable to 'City of York Council'.

We will need the address of the property to which the planning application refers and the name, address and telephone number of the person ordering the maps

If you have difficulty collecting the maps we can post copies out once payment has been received (there will be a small charge for postage).
