You can search and view the City of York Development Control Local Plan (April 2005) on the Planning Portal - local planning information website. This includes the Local Plan text and the proposals map. 

The Planning Portal is a system developed by the Planning Inspectorate giving you access to a combination of information and links to planning and related websites. It is intended to be a first point of call for anyone who wants to find out about the planning system in England and Wales. It is aimed at everyone, from central government and local authorities to planning professionals and the lay person.

To Access the Local Plan on the Planning Portal

1. Go to the Planning Portal Local Information page.
2. Type 'City of York' into the 'Location of Interest' box.
3. Select 'Local Plan' in the top left-hand corner of the page.
