From Monday 18 July 2011 planning advice from an officer will be available at 9 St Leonard's Place between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday only.

The planning service at reception is provided to:

• assist with interpretation of plans/drawing submitted with applications
• assist with basic procedural and technical enquiries

All queries relating to:

• whether planning permission is required for a proposal
• whether a proposal is likely to be acceptable
• whether an amendment to an existing permission can be carried out without a further application

must be submitted in writing (using forms available here) to planning.enquiries@york.gov.uk or by post to: Development Management, City of York Council, 9 St Leonard's Place, York YO1 7ET
