Wildlife survey

In order to take account of wildlife we need to know what there is and where it is. Despite having been looked at for many years we still do not know everything that there is around and people are still finding new and exciting things.

To help with this we are always trying to gain new information through:

  • surveys done by ourselves
  • surveys done by private individuals
  • requesting surveys as part of development proposals

Most of the information we have is held by The North and East Yorkshire Ecological Data Centre. Information will also eventually be available through the York Local Biodiversity Action Plan.

Any information gained is passed to the North and East Yorkshire Ecological Data Centre based here in York.

Anyone can use their basic service although there may be a charge for more detailed work. Contact them through St Williams Foundation tel: (01904) 557235.
