The Allotments Team

Site Secretary

This is the person who showed you round your allotment site.

Site Secretaries are volunteers who have an allotment on the site and help with running the allotments.

Allotments Officer

Responsible for the day to day management of sites as well as developing and improving the allotment service.

Contact the allotments officer:

  • if you are prevented from gardening, for a month or more, by illness, incapacity or family circumstances
  • if you will be working away from home for some time and won't be able to look after your allotment
  • if you need advice on allotment gardening problems

Allotments Administrator

Deals with all the administration involved with running the allotments.

Contact the allotments administrator:

  • if you change your address, phone number or e-mail address. You are at risk of losing your allotment garden if we are unable to contact you
  • if you wish to give up your allotment garden. This helps us re-let your garden quickly and you are not sent a further bill for your rent
  • if you need a livestock or structure permission form
  • if you wish to change from a full to a half-sized plot

Allotment Association

A group of allotments gardeners who work together to improve their site.

Allotment Associations raise funds to improve their site, organise working parties and social events and offer support to allotment tenants.

If your site doesn't have an association, and you are interested in helping to start one, contact the Allotments Officer.
