British Trust for Conservation Volunteers Get Growing project will be supporting new school and community food gardens throughout the city. The project is looking for gardeners with some experience and lots of enthusiasm who can spare a few hours a month to help school and other groups set up new gardens. If you wish to develop your own site, please contact Dave Meigh on (01904) 553386 or by emailing dave.meigh@york.gov.uk. A simple licence is required to occupy City of York Council land and before any licence is granted the Council will need to consider the impact of any development on neighbours, underground services, archaeology and such like.
