Allotments
There are more than a thousand plots on our allotment sites and another four hundred plots on sites run by parish councils or independent groups
Grazing
We arrange the grazing on Bootham Stray, Monk Stray, Walmgate Stray and Hob Moor. No grazing licences are available until 2021
Memorials and donations
Making a donation for a park bench, a tree or daffodil planting is a way to mark a memorable event such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding or to commemorate a special person
Model boating
A section of the lake at Rowntree Park, closest to the play area, is set aside for model boat use

Rivers
The city of York owes its existence to the Rivers Ouse and Foss. These natural barriers made it an ideal defensive site which was settled by the Romans in AD71. With reorganisation of local government in 1996 the River Derwent now forms part of the council's eastern boundary
