What we do
The Vision Support Team provides specialist support for children with reduced vision
Referrals
We take referrals from schools, early years settings, parents and other agencies such as health and social services
Liaison with medical practitioners
Some children require vision support throughout their school life
Improving access to the school environment
We advise on changes that can be made to the school environment to aid visual access
How much support can we offer
The level of our involvement varies considerably according to the child’s needs
Disability Discrimination Act
The Special Educational Needs and Discrimination Act 2001 has made our work easier
