In its first year the Wider Opportunities programme is taught in school time, in the classroom, and supported by government and school financial contributions. A parental contribution is required for any second and subsequent years. In order to provide a stepping stone to the financial commitment required, we are pleased to announce the Sequel Programme from September 2008.

The Sequel Programme provides the link between whole class learning and the traditional model of Group of four tuition or individual tuition associated with traditional music service delivery in schools. It also offers:

• Tuition by specialist instrumental teachers in groups of approximately eight children for thirty minutes
• Delivered by a suitably qualified music instrumental specialist - in most cases this will be the same teacher(s) as the Wider Opportunities class programme.
• A minimum of thirty lessons provided in school throughout the academic year
• Provision of an instrument and consumables (strings, reeds etc) including maintenance.
• Concessions rates are available for those on low incomes

At the conclusion of the Sequel Programme you will be able to purchase the instrument your child has been using at a substantively reduced price.
