Post 16 Transport Assistance

Post 16 Transport Policy 2011-2012

This policy is to support students in post 16 education attending full time courses and:

  • who live more than 3 miles from their place of learning and whose parent/carers are on a low income (please see policy part F paragraph 1 (ii) for definition of low income) or;
  • who need support/training to develop their independent skills to allow them to access public transport.  

How to apply

Application forms will be available from 19th June 2011, either download from this website or telephone to request a postal form.

What other help is available?

For students who are not eligible for assistance under the authority’s policy, you may be able to occupy seats on a concessionary basis on a vehicle contracted by the authority for home to school transport work, if places are available.
