During the year of office, the Lord Mayor supports two local charities. This year's charities are York Against Cancer and York and District Mind.

The Lord Mayor and civic party invite you to join them for a gourmet evening with some delicious wines from Wine Importer Geoff Walker and cheese from Julian from the new emporium 'Cheese Lovers'. A perfect evening for wine and cheese lovers in the Mansion House.

Tickets priced £10, which includes a drink, and are available from Guildhall reception and York Against Cancer.
Join the civic party for a special variety show, featuring York's finest local talent including: Attitude Dance Club; The Shipley Family; New York Brass Band; Chirs Jay; York Light Opera Company; York Stage Musicals; JazzKats; Spirit of Harmony and Rebecca Newman.

A sequel to York Light Opera Company's well received 'a walk down the theatrical aisle'. This demonstration will transform a model through the various ages from 17 to 70 based on the character of the Marchioness of Shane, the heroine of Noel Cowerds 'Bitter Sweet'. A wonderful afternoon of historical fashion with tea and cake. Tickets £7.50 available from Guildhall reception.
Join the Lord Mayor and Sheriff in the competition to win the 'Lord Mayor's Cup'. An annual event in the civic calendar, with the kind permission of Pike Hills Golf Club. Teams of 4 in a Stableford competition. Entry fee £20 per player whcih includes a round of golf and coffee and bacon sandwiches before tee-off.
