Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 is intended to promote a culture of openness and accountability by giving people the right to access information held by public authorities. This will help improve public understanding of how we carry out our duties, why we make the decisions we do and how we spend public money.

You may already access council information elsewhere on this website. However, if the information you want is not currently available you can make a separate request for it. We will deal with such requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (and its Code of Practice) and our own Freedom of Information scheme.

View the full Freedom of Information Act 2000 on the HMSO website.
