How to make a freedom of information request

From January 2005 any information held by the council can be given to anyone who requests it, unless an exemption applies.

In order to help you receive the information you want we need to be able to record your request, contact you and locate the information.

Your request:

  1. must be made in writing (we encourage emails)
  2. should include your name and contact address, and
  3. must describe the information you want

If you include a daytime phone number it will help us if we need to discuss your request.

If you would like to make a request you can:

  • Print and complete a Freedom of Information request form available to download on the right hand side of this page
  • Email your request to the Information Management Officer.

More information is available on the Department for Constitutional Affairs website.
