We are undertaking a major rationalisation of our existing office accommodation and building a new civic headquarters and Customer Centre at West Offices by 2012.

The project will bring with it many benefits including an estimated saving of £17m over the next 25 years, ability to work closer with partners and the opportunity to release a number of important historic buildings for restoration and more appropriate use.

Work has now begun on site to transform West Offices which will undergo a major transformation, blending old and new architecture to create an innovative new focal point for the city and its residents. The scheme demonstrates an excellent example of sustainable regeneration of a historic building, located within an attractive city centre setting. Not only will the scheme provide a building that meets our needs, it will enable greater flexibility and operational efficiency in the delivery of our services, supporting the our programme of improvement and efficiency.
