The Neighbourhood Action Plan for each ward has three or four ambitions which come under various headings. Common themes are:
These ambition statements for each ward committee were devised after consultation with residents to focus on local needs and concerns.
July - Your Ward published including a form to ask for ideas for schemes from residents. A reminder about the call for schemes may happen at the ward committee meeting.
October - The ward team and councillors publish a short list in Your Ward for residents to vote on. The ward committee meeting may include discussion of the short-listed suggestions.
January/February - The councillors publish the list of approved schemes in Your Ward. The Decision is announced at the ward committee meeting.
April - Schemes are commissioned. There may be an update on the previous year's budget at the ward committee meeting.
Each Ward Committee has a budget from which grants can be given to not-for-profit groups who meet certain criteria. Ward Committee funding is intended to help local communities improve the places residents live in. Grants can be applied for by organisations who are active locally and who can show that the grant will be used either to:

Before you start filling in the form, you may find it useful to talk to the Neighbourhood Management Officer covering the ward you are applying to. They will explain anything you are unsure of and help you to make sure that your application is eligible for a ward committee grant.
