A councillor champion is an elected council member who has been given responsibility for raising the profile of a particular area, both within the council and the community.

The current champions are:

• Older People's Champion - tbc
• Information Management and E-Government Champion -  Cllr Nigel Ayre 
• Children and Young People's Champion - Cllr James Alexander
• Efficiency, Procurement and Risk Management Champion - Cllr Tom Holvey
• Energy Efficiency Champion - Cllr Christian Vassie
• Heritage Champion - Cllr Dave Taylor
• Cycling Champion - Cllr Joe Watt

You can contact the relevant champion if you have a particular issue you would like to raise with them.

From time to time we may designate further champions from among councillors. This will be approved by full council.
