The Mansion House is the city's premier building and home to the Lord Mayor of York during his or her term of office.

In 1998 the Mansion House was restored by York Civic Trust and with their expertise the house underwent an amazing transformation to be brought back to a standard worthy of the city of York. The Mansion House has also recently benefited from the installation of a new lift that provides access for those with mobility problems.
