The council is developing community contracts to improve the delivery of services in neighbourhoods. A community contract will be the document that supports the partnership agreement between a ward committee, providers of services in the ward and you – the community. The first section focuses specifically on the priorities for your ward agreed by your ward committee. These are informed by resident ambitions, what local statistics show and what people working in the ward know. A Ward Action Plan will be developed that will detail local initiatives to be delivered in partnership and includes the council, other organisations and local voluntary groups that will address the priorities for your ward. This will be regularly updated so that you can see what progress is being made.
The next section outlines what City of York Council services are delivered across the city that residents can expect to receive and how you can contact the service if you need to. It also details how these services are monitored, what the responsibilities of the community are in relation to those services, and how residents and the wider community can get more involved if they wish to.
