Overview
The Business Intelligence team is the first point of contact for anyone with an enquiry about opinion surveys, other research, and public consultation being carried out by the council.
We undertake a combination of annual surveys, statutory research and a variety of one-off pieces of research throughout the year. We use a wide range of methods to gather opinion, including face-to-face, postal and web-based surveys as well as undertaking focus groups and workshops.
The Business Intelligence team also runs the council's citizens' panel 'Talkabout' and our new residents survey 'The Big York Survey'. The Big York Survey was first sent out to residents in May 2012 as part of a new listening council initiative giving people the chance to tell us what they think about council-run, as well as citywide services.
