Do you live in York? Are you concerned about social, environmental and economic issues in your area?
Each year your ward committee has a budget to pay for local improvements in your area. This can be spent on things that improve the look or feel of your neighbourhood. It can include things like; street lighting, benches, recycling projects, composting initiatives, sporting activities or grants to community groups.
To make sure that this budget can make a real difference in the ward we particularly want your ideas and suggestions. This year we have launched an online survey to get your ideas. We also deliver the Your Ward newsletter to every home in York. This contains a form that you can fill in to send us your suggestions by Freepost. You can come along to ward committee meetings, you can e-mail us or call us to talk about your ideas. We welcome suggestions from anyone who lives or works in the ward including young people, when you send us ideas please include your name, address and contact details in case we need to check any details with you.
In the October Your Ward we will publish a list of suggested schemes with the opportunity for you to let us know your preferences. In the January/February ward committee meetings the proposed final schemes list will be ratified and announced at the public meeting.
