The Carers Centre is an independent organisation that works for and with carers in York and Selby.
Whilst not a counselling service it has staff who understand the issues and problems which may arise as a result of caring.
Appointments can be arranged to suit you, including home visits if required.
All services are free and confidential.
The carers centre provides an information, advice and support service on a number of issues including: benefits, holidays, respite, day care, support groups, assessments, home care, social services, residential services, support/advocacy.

The Selby and York Young Carers Service provides information, support and advice for 8 to 18 year old young carers who are caring for someone at home.
The service offers information, advice and support to young carers on a one to one basis as well as group support.
It works both with individual young carers and their families. It runs groups, similar to youth clubs, and offers various trips, events and residential breaks.
There is also a service for 18 to 25 year old carers, offering support, information and occasional groups.
