We provide specialist advice and teaching for minority ethnic pupils with language or cultural needs that may create barriers to access, attendance and achievement.

The service provides:

• advice and support to schools, families, nurseries and playgroups
• specialist teaching
• short term intervention projects
• assistance to school in the development of policy and practice
• contribution to statutory assessment procedures where appropriate
• training and staff development opportunities for teachers and support staff
• guidance on responding to racial harassment

Using the service

Referrals for support come directly from the schools.
