York's hate incident strategy

A multi-agency hate incident group is working across York to support victims and stop hate incidents.

A hate incident is a crime and can happen in a variety of ways, including:

  • offensive language or verbal abuse
  • offensive graffiti or literature
  • physical attack
  • damage to property
  • arson
  • continual malicious allegations
