Choices for remembrance

Remembrance Description Picture
The Book of remembrance  This is on display in the Chapel of Remembrance in a protective glass case.  Entries may be seen on each anniversary   Book of remembrance
Remembrance cards   Copies of entries in the Book of Remembrance are available to relatives and friends upon request.  
Black memorial plaque on stand   Located with other plaques on a black frame stand in the gardens of remembrance.  It is available for 5 or 15 years with a maximum inscription up to 60 letters (including spaces).   Black memorial plaque on a stand at York Crematorium
Bronze memorial rose plaque This engraved bronze plaque is fixed to the raised rose bed on either side of the path going towards the summer house within the gardens of remembrance and can be dedicated for 5 or 15 years.   Bronze memorial rose plaque at York Crematorium
Commemorative bench These benches, situated with the gardens of remembrance, are available for an initial period of 7 years with an inscribed plaque fixed to the bench. Unfortunately,  there is normally a waiting list for benches.   Commemorative bench memorial
Granite seats Located in the gardens of remembrance, granite seats with plaques are available for 5 years.   Granite seat memorial
Granite posy vase block  These line the pathway to the rear of the general office and are made of grey granite. Each vase block holds a galvanised metal vase with the inscribed tablet and is available for dedication for ten and twenty years.   Granite posy vase block at York Crematorium
Granite circular memorial disc  
This circular memorial marks the area where the cremated remains have been interred.   The memorial has roon for up to 60 letters (including spaces) and is available on a 5 year lease.    Granite shaped disc
Sanctum II niche   This memorial is behind the main chapel and holds 2 sets of cremated remains. The desk top effect holds a vase with the main inscription available with a grey textured background with red relief or alternatively a red smooth granite background with embossed grey writing both types of tablet can accommodate a maximum of 80 letters including spaces and is available for 10 and 20 years.   The Sanctum 11 Niche memorial at York Crematorium
 Sanctum 2000  Located in the gardens of remembrance and comes complete with a vase for cut flowers, the black granite tablet being inscribed with gold leaf and available with motif if required. This memorial will hold a maximum of 2 sets of cremated remains and available for lease on 10 or 20 years.   The Sanctum 2000 memorial
Granite planter memorial   Located in front and to the right of Chapel of remembrance near the disabled car park. The octagon planter offers the choice of either a red or black granite tablet with a maximum of 6 lines (70 letters) of gold leaf inscription  with a vase at the base for a single flower. The dedication period is 10 or 20 years.   Granite planter memorial
Summerhouse memorial plaque   
This memorial is made from black polished granite and can be inscribed up to 96 letters (including spaces) and available for 5 or 10 years. These plaques are located at the end of the walkway between the rose beds and are fixed on to the walls of the summerhouse.    Summer house memorial plaque at York Crematorium

Bulb donation scheme

We have introduced a scheme where bereaved families and friends and members of the public can make donations towards spring flowering bulbs being planted within the Gardens of Remembrance.
