Hackney carriage licences are renewed for the 1 June and private hire licences for the 1 November each year. There is no reduction for licences issued part way through the licensing year.

All the fees are reviewed annually and are likely to change on the 1 April each year.

The fee for holders of a current private hire driver's licence on first application for a hackney carriage driver's licence is £39.00. Subsequent renewals are at the normal renewal fee.
