If you want to sell items in the street or on land where the public have access without paying you need a street trading consent from us. If you do not have consent you could be liable to a fine.
If you want to trade on private land you need permission from the landowner as well as consent from us. You may also need planning permission.

Only complete the assistant's details form if you have people working for you.
Return the completed application form to Licensing Services.
We will usually make a decision within 28 days and we will notify you of this in writing. If your application is successful you will need to supply two passport size photographs of yourself and any assistants employed by you. You will also need Public Liability Insurance before you are allowed to trade.
Fees are individually assessed depending on where you trade and the type of goods you sell.
Artists = £1,990.00
Other (including buskers who sell items) = £2,370.00 or £197.50 a month
Ice cream = £1,595.00
Food = £1,495.00
Non food = £725.00
If your application is successful you will be told the exact fee and how to pay it. Payments can be broken down into 12 monthly instalments.
Consent is renewed each year on the 1 April. Reminders are sent in February/March. Renewal is not guaranteed.
