You need permission from us to place any scaffolding (including temporary scaffold towers) on any part of the highway. A highway includes not only the road but also footways and verges.

Permission is valid for the duration of the works.

Cost

It costs £48.00 to get permission.  This fee covers the initial consent and one month's permission to place on the highway. Subsequent months will be charged at £27.00 per month or part thereof.

Apply for permission

It is the responsibility of the Scaffolding Company to apply for permission.  In order to do this the company must be registered with us.  The Registration form can be downloaded and printed from this page.

The application form should be completed and returned with your payment to the contact details as shown.

Allow at least two working days for permission to be granted.
