We keep a public register of any large shops who trade on a Sunday.

Large shops cannot open for trading at all on Easter Sunday or Christmas Day if it falls on a Sunday.

Which shops need to register with the council?

Shops with a floor area over 3000 square feet must inform us of the hours they intend to trade on a Sunday. They must specify a six hour period between the hours of 10.00am and 6.00pm when they will trade.
