Personal licences

Personal licences cost £37.00.

Premises licences and club premises certificates (grants and variations)

You will need to know the rateable value of your premise. This can be found on your business rates invoice or by entering your postcode at the Valuation Office website. 

Various non-domestic rateable values have been allocated to bands:

• A = 0 - 4300 domestic rateable value (£)
• B = 4301 - 33000 domestic rateable value (£)
• C = 33001 - 87000 domestic rateable value (£)
• D = 87001 - 125000 domestic rateable value (£)
• E = 125001 and over domestic rateable value (£)

When you know what band your premise falls into the fees are as follows:

• A = £100
• B = £190
• C = £315
• D = £450
• E = £635

For premises that fall into bands D and E, that are exclusively or primarily used for carrying on the supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises, the amount of the fee will be, in the case of premises in Band D, two times the amount shown above. In the case of premises in Band E, three times the amount shown above.

Annual Charges

Annual charges payable by those holding premises licences and club premises certificates:

• A = £70
• B = £180
• C = £295
• D = £320
• E = £350

Churches and village halls

You do not need to pay a fee if the application is made by a church, chapel, village hall, parish hall, community hall or other similar building that is used for the provision of regulated entertainment only.

Schools and colleges

You do not need to pay a fee if the application is made by an educational institution where the provision of entertainment on the premises is carried on by the educational institution for and on behalf of the purposes of the education institution.

• Application for copy of notice on theft, loss etc of temporary event notice = £10.50
• Application for a grant or renewal of personal licence  = £37.00
• Application for copy of licence on theft, loss etc of personal licence  = £10.50
• Notification of change of name or address (personal licence) = £10.50
• Notice of interest in any premises = £21.00
