The Eco Business Centre is an exciting new building aimed at providing business services to new and growing small businesses in York. This City of York service provides 60 small business units on its site at Clifton Moor housed in an exciting eco-friendly building. The Eco Business Centre is open to most types of businesses and has been designed to minimise its impact on the environment - not only in the materials used in its construction but in its day-to-day operation too. The building is heated and cooled by ground-source heating, harvests rainwater for re-use and has its own iconic wind-turbine to provide for some of the building's electrical needs.

The ground floor of the building provides a reception and display area for tenants' products and services, management and counselling rooms as well as a training/boardroom which can be hired by tenant businesses for formal meetings or presentations to clients. Also on the ground floor 20 studio units surround an attractive landscaped central courtyard with units ranging from 355 to 575 sq ft.

The first floor provides 40 offices on the three sides of the building ranging in size from 150 to 365 sq ft.  To the front of the building at this level will be a café and a communal area where tenant business owners may meet informally, discuss ideas and joint ventures or just eat lunch. The cafe also has a balcony which may be used in fine weather.

The second floor provides a Terrace at the rear of the building with paving and a green roof.  This is designed to provide some open-air space for clients' use.
