York's Capital Strategy Statement and Corporate Asset Management Plan ensure the council has an effective strategy and operational plan to make the best use of its capital resources and property assets.

These are corporate management tools, working within a framework of all other council strategies and service objectives.

The council have produced Corporate Asset Management Plans since 2000 and the latest document, which was approved by the council's Executive in 2007, is a 5 year Corporate AMP which covers the main property and land related issues facing the authority over that period.

The aim is to continue with the cultural change being undertaken by the authority in treating land and property assets as a corporate resource used by council services, partners, and third parties to deliver the council's corporate plan and strategy.
