What to do when floods and other major incidents occur.

We have produced a booklet explaining how we work alongside the emergency services and other agencies to prepare for the unexpected, and the measures you can take so you know what to do in an emergency to help keep you and your family safe. You can download a copy of the booklet from this page.

  • Emergency plans for flooding
    If there is a major flood in York the council will support the emergency services. We do this for all major emergencies
  • Major emergency incident
    If there is a major incident in York we must keep main council services running and co-ordinate what voluntary groups do to help
