This is a partnership between the council's Trading Standards Service and local motor traders who have been strictly audited by the service and made a commitment to fair and honest trading.

Continued membership of the scheme is conditional on businesses complying with a detailed set of written commitments, not least compliance with the spirit and the letter of all trading standards legislation.

Motor Traders wishing to be considered for the scheme should contact the Trading Standards team.

Members are now carrying out a ''visual vehicle condition report'' for free to customers - this is a visual check of approximately 17 areas on cars including, windscreens, handbrakes, tyres, horns, wipers etc
