If your child attends a music ensemble or music lessons at school they will need their own instrument. There are various ways to get one:
Some schools have instruments which they will loan to pupils taking music tuition.
The Arts Service has a small number of instruments for available to loan. Contact us to find out what is currently available.
The hire cost can sometimes be deducted from the price, if you decide to purchase the instrument.
The Arts Service keeps a list of second hand instruments for sale. Please contact the Arts Service to find out which instruments are available. Please contact us if you have an instrument you would like to sell and we will add the information to our lists.
Second hand instruments can also be bought at jumble or car boot sales and through advertisements in the local newspaper.
You should always ask someone who knows about the instrument for their opinion before buying a musical instrument second hand.
This scheme is only available to pupils having lessons with the Arts Service or attending a Performing Arts Centre musical ensemble.
