If you are overpaid housing benefit you will normally have to repay it. We will write and tell you:

• what you correct benefit is
• why you were overpaid
• how much the overpayment is
• whether you have to pay it back

We recover overpayments by deductions from future housing benefit or by sending you a bill if your benefit has ended.
